Vlaška mountain is located in southeastern Serbia, not far from Pirot, and extends in a northwest-southeast direction for a length of 6 km. It belongs to the Balkan Mountains, and not far away is the attractive canyon of the Jerma River, which is formed by the sharp rocks of the Vlaška and Greben mountains.
The mountain got its name from the village of Vlasi, name originated from the plural of the word Vlach, which can mean a herdsman, but also an ethnic community of Romani natives.
In this experience, we take you to the mystical southeast of Serbia and Vlaška mountain.
We will walk in the footsteps of the local ethnic community of Romani people, trek to several different mountain tops, visit local villages, enjoy the beauty of the canyon of Jarma River, visit the local monastery of Poganovo, established way back in the 14th century.

DAY 1 - FROM BELGRADE TO POGANOVO VILLAGE
Departure from Belgrade at 4PM. Car route: Belgrade - Niš - Pirot - Poganovo village. Casual breaks. Expected arrival time around 21:30. Accommodation and overnight stay in a local homestay.
Note: For guests arriving from abroad we organize pick up/drop off at the airport Nikola Tesla in Belgrade.
DAY 2
IRON BRIDGE JARMA RIVER - peak DREN - peak PANICA - peak VRTIBOG
Departure in front of the accommodation at 07:30 with a small backpack and necessary things for a daily hike. The rest of the things remain in the accommodation because we return to it. After a short drive, arrival at the starting position of the track.
If the weather conditions permit, there is an option of returning via the circular route to the village of Selište. After finishing the hike and arriving at the endpoint, a short drive to the Poganovo village. Overnight stay.
Statistics of the day: Expected total ascent: 990m, hiking length: ~14 km, duration with breaks: 7.30 hours. Water source: 1 (in the village of Selište)

DAY 3
DRAGOVITA VILLAGE - IZVORSKA GLAVA PEAK - BEZENISTE PEAK
Departure in front of the accommodation at 07:30 AM, with a small backpack and necessary things for a daily hike. The rest of the things remain in the accommodation because we return to it. After a short drive, arrival at the starting position of the track.
Return to the village. After we pack all our belongings in our van, we go on an excursion walk along the canyon of the Jerma River to the village of Vlasi.
After the hike, departure for Belgrade. Casual breaks. A longer break in Pirot or Niš for a meal and refreshments. Planned to arrive in Belgrade around 22:00.
Statistics of the day: total ascent: 500m; descent: 500m, length of hike: ~ 10 km, duration with breaks: 6:00 hours. Water source: 1 (at the start).
Return to the village. After we pack all our belongings in our van, we go on an excursion walk along the canyon of the Jerma River to the village of Vlasi.
After the hike, departure for Belgrade. Casual breaks. A longer break in Pirot or Niš for a meal and refreshments. Planned to arrive in Belgrade around 22:00.
